ADAMS COUNTY — Over the years, the atmosphere of the old monthly Market Days on the south side of Brighton has changed quite a bit at the annual Adams County Fair, set for Aug. 1 through 5 at the regional park complex, 9755 Henderson Road.
But the sense of community coming together — whether over barbecue, a good year for crops or to showcase livestock — remains as Adams County presents one of the largest county fairs in the state.
The fair begins with a “sneak a peak” day from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, featuring free parking, unlimited ride wristbands for $12 per person, the grand opening ceremony and a new feature to the fair this year, the 4H Horse Expo.
Seniors will be treated to a free pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, as part of Senior Day at the Fair. Aug. 2 also marks the start of the Budweiser CPRA Rodeo, which kicks off at 7 p.m. in the United Power Grandstands.
Other standout events include the NSPA Truck Pull, set for 7 p.m. Aug. 3, Family Day on Aug. 4, and Fiesta Day at the Fair on Aug. 5.
