BRIGHTON — A sheriff’s deputy in the jail division of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office was arrested last week on allegations of sexual assault on a child.
Deputy Henry Ford was arrested Thursday, April 10, at his home in Strasburg and was advised on charges Friday, April 11, after an investigation into Ford began April 9. Bond was set April 11 at $100,000.
Sheriff Doug Darr spoke April 11 regarding Ford’s arrest, emphasizing that his office was doing its part to respond to the allegations appropriately.
“I don’t think it’s a black eye for the agency, and here’s why, we have a responsibility to clean up our own house. We have a responsibility to take care of business,” Darr said. “Whenever people are accused, they’re not different than anyone else. Everyone gets treated the same.”
Ford joins the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in 2006. Formal charges were set to be filed April 15 after press deadline.
“We will always conduct those investigations as we should and in the best interest of the general public. We have a responsibility to be honest about it and that’s what we’re gonna do,” Darr said.
