BRIGHTON — The days of cotton candy, carnival rides and the like return this week at the Adams County Fairgrounds for the 2013 Adams County Fair.
For folks who are ready for fried foods on a stick and all the normal county fair accoutrement, the sneak preview night is set for Wednesday, July 31. Free parking will be offered as the fair runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and the carnival runs from 5 to 11 p.m.
For the Thursday opening on Aug. 1, the traditional Senior Day has been rebranded “Baby Boomers & Beyond,” featuring the 8:30 a.m. free breakfast. The fair runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with the carnival running 5 to 10 p.m. The Budweiser CPRA Rodeo gets underway at 7 p.m.
United Power Grandstand Arena tickets are on sale for $15 per adult, $10 for children ages 4 to 12, and kids 3 and under are free with a paying adult.
Friday, Aug. 2, brings about 9News Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with plenty of free activities and entertainment. The NSPA truck pull gets underway at 7 p.m.; tickets are on sale for $15 per adult, $10 for children ages 4 to 12, and kids 3 and under are free with a paying adult.
Both the fair and carnival start at 10 a.m. Aug. 2 and 3, with the fair closing at 11 p.m. and the carnival at 12:30 a.m. both nights.
On Family Day Saturday, Aug. 3, the Colorado Garden Tractor Pull begins at 6 p.m., followed by the DDRA Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. Tickets for the demolition derby are on sale for $15 per adult, $10 for children ages 4 to 12, and kids 3 and under are free with a paying adult.
The fair concludes its 2013 run Sunday, Aug. 4, with La Tricolor, Univision Colorado y Las Delicias presentation of Día de la Familia at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids ages 4 to 12, and free for kids 3 and under with a paying adult.
