BRIGHTON — Brighton High School’s football team was honored with a certificate of recognition at city council’s Dec. 4 meeting. City council presented Coach Pat Sandoval and the team with the certificate and council members then shook hands with them.

Mayor Dick McLean said council is really proud of both high school teams for their achievements over the years but especially this past year as the team became the East Metro Conference 5A champions with an 8-2 record. McLean said the team was able to accomplish something that a lot of teams in the past haven’t.
“You represented Brighton really, really well, and we know this is the first of many championships to come,” he said.
