AURORA -- Brighton High School has a spot in this weekend's regional softball tournament.
View MapThe Bulldogs drew the 28th seed and face fifth-seeded Arvada West at 10 a.m. Saturday at Youth Memorial Park, 7619 Alkire St., Arvada. Fort Collins and Eaglecrest are the other teams in the bracket.
The first-game winners play at 12:15 p.m. for one of the two state tournament berths. The teams that lose the first game play an elimination game at 12;15 p.m. The winner of that game plays the semifinal loser for the second state playoff berth at 2:30 p.m.
The state tournament begins at Aurora Sports Park Oct. 18.
