BRIGHTON – A new King Soopers is in the works for Brighton.
The city’s planning division received a submittal for a final development plan and plat amendment on Nov. 13 to construct a King Soopers Marketplace at the Northeast corner of North 50th Avenue and Bridge Street, according to City Manager Manuel Esquibel’s weekly report.
The new prototype will be similar to the King Soopers opened that opened in Reunion in June and will have a drive-thru pharmacy, Fred Meyer Jewelry store, Starbucks and a fueling facility. According to the report, King Soopers representatives expect the marketplace to attract 20,000 customer trips per week and employ between 150 and 170 employees. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Construction is anticipated to begin during the spring/summer of next year and is planned to open in the spring of 2014.
