Car avoids lake after Saturday night crash

A motorist narrowly averted crashing into a lake near East 124th Avenue and U.S. Highway 85 Saturday evening around 9:30.
The car left the roadway and rolled several times before ending up on its roof close to the lake edge. Emergency responders from the Platte Valley Ambulance Service and the Brighton Fire Department treated the sole occupant prior to transporting him to a hospital near Denver.
Brighton police are investigating the accident and its cause.
