Council appointments named

BRIGHTON — A number of appointments were made to local boards and commissions during City Council’s Jan. 21 meeting. 

Council members were sworn in for the following appointments:

• Mayor Dick McLean was reappointed to the Adams County Blue Ribbon Commission, the Brighton Economic Development Corporation Board, the E-470 Board, the Lochbuie Sewer Board, Weld County Mayors “Bullseye” Committee; appointed to the Adams County Economic Development Board; and reappointed as an alternate to the Airport Coordinating Committee.

• Mayor Pro Tem Kirby Wallin was reappointed to the Lochbuie Sewer Board, the Brighton Youth Commission; and will serve as an alternate on the E-470 Board, Historic Preservation Commission and the Weld County Mayors “Bullseye” Committee.

• Councilwoman Lynn Baca was reappointed DRCOG and NATA. She will also serve as the Fire District Liaison.

• Councilman Rex Bell was reappointed to the Adams County Water Quality Association, the CML Policy Board; and appointed to the Highway 85 Coalition, and the Housing Authority Board.

• Councilman J.W. Edwards was reappointed to the Airport Coordinating Committee, the Senior Advisory Board and the BEDC board as an alternate; and will serve as an alternate on the Lochbuie Sewer Board.

• Councilman Mark Humbert was appointed to the Urban Renewal Authority Board where he previously served as an alternate; and will serve as an alternate on the Adams County Economic Development Board, the Downtown Partnership Committee, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

• Councilwoman Joan Kniss was appointed to the Brighton Legacy Foundation and the Capital Facility Fee Foundation, and the Cultural Arts Commission.

• Councilman Ken Kreutzer was appointed to the Downtown Partnership Committee, the Historic Preservation Commission, Lodging Tax Committee, and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

• Councilwoman Cynthia Martinez was reappointed to LINK and will serve as an alternate on the Capital Facility Fee Foundation, DRCOG, Housing Authority Board and Youth Commission. She will also serve as an alternate fire district liaison.
