BRIGHTON -- Bill Lemke, a well-known Brighton certified public accountant, died April 3 after a crash near Southeast Elementary School.
The crash happened shortly after noon in the 1700 block of Southern Street. Photographer John Carr said Lemke's vehicle collided with two vehicles, took out a pair of large trees and landed on top of a shed in the yard of a nearby home. There were no other reported injuries related to the crash. Southern Street was littered with debris from the crash for much of the afternoon.
Polilce are looking into the possibility that Lemke had some sort of medical condition before the crash. His brother, Al, died in a crash in 2006.
The entrance to Southeast Elementary School was closed for part of the afternoon while detectives continued their investigation. Authorities are examining the possibility that the victim had some sort of medical condition before the crash.
