BRIGHTON — The School District 27J Board of Education approved an $118-million general fund budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year on a 6-0 vote during the May 27 meeting.

A little bit more than $115 million of the budget’s revenue comes from a mix of the state’s approval of the 2014 School Finance Bill, the Student Success Act and a slight increase to account for inflation. The district will receive approximately $8.4 million more in state education funding than it received during the current fiscal year.
