BRIGHTON - The Brighton Fire Rescue District said Thursday afternoon's barn fire remains under investigation.
It destroyed the 40-by-60-foot structure near East 164th Avenue and Harvest Road, just east of the Calhoun Reservoir.
Division Chief Michael Schuppe said the residents were at home at the time the fire started. They got out safely, but some of their livestock did not make it out alive. The exact number was not known at midafternoon.
