Firefighters put down structure fire in frigid temps

Firefighters from Brighton Fire Rescue and the Thornton Fire Department needed about a half-hour to knock down a structure fire Friday night in 10-degree temperatures.

The fire started around 7 p.m. near 124th Avenue and Brighton Road.  When firefighters arrived, fire crews found the building fully involved in fire. Platte Valley ambulance service and the Adams County Sheriff's Office were o the scene, while South Adams County Fire Protection District helped out with calls in Brighton until units could be cleared from the fire.

There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
