The southbound lanes of Highway 85 were closed around 9 a.m. Aug. 22 following a four-car, chain-reaction accident. One person was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
A witness reported that cars were stopping for the red light when a small yellow sedan collided with the vehicles without braking. Following the initial collision the driver of the yellow car backed up in traffic and then collided with a fourth car.
Brighton Fire Rescue and the Platte Valley Ambulance Service responded to aid the injured person while Brighton police are investigating the cause.
