Deputies re-arrested an Aurora resident who had been released by mistake from Adams County Jail in Brighton, the sheriff's office said in a press statement.
Deputies found Shannon Owens, 31, at a motel near East 88th Avenue and Interstate 76 on Sunday, June 9. They contacted him by phone, and he was taken into custody.
Owens was released on Friday, April 7, after he told authorities he was another inmate who was scheduled for release.
Owens was being held on a parole violation for the Colorado Department of Corrections. He will continue to be held in the Adams County Jail for the parole violation and now faces an additional escape charge, the sheriff's office said in a press statement.
