JTOH Art Show & Reception- 1st Annual What/Who Inspires You: A Community Perspective

In celebration of Brighton’s long history of Hispanic Heritage,
Metropolitan State University of Denver- Journey Through Our Heritage
Brighton High School Team in conjunction with Chicana/o Humanities and
Arts Council (CHAC) and the Brighton Armory Cultural Center, is
hosting the 1st Annual What/Who Inspires You: A Community Perspective
of Brighton’s Diversity, running May1st through May29th, 2012 at the
Brighton Armory Cultural Center located at 300 Strong Street,
Brighton, CO.(hours of operation M-F 9am-4pm)

An open invitation for the public to participate in a free community
reception is set for May 18, 2012 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Brighton
Armory. This family friendly event is free and open to the public. It
will feature guest artists, music and light refreshments.

The exhibition is an endeavor to promote self empowerment and develop
leaders among our youth. The partners in the art show are hoping to
recruit new youth leaders for next year’s JTOH team from Brighton.

Invest an evening with Brighton’s best and brightest young artists and
community celebrities. Get to know each other by celebrating art,
culture, leadership and self expression. A special award will
recognize and honor former Brighton High School Teacher, Luis Sandoval
as well as other inspirations from the community.

innovative and unique multi-cultural educational programs sponsored by
Metropolitan State College of Denver (MSCD) Department of Chicana/o
