According to the Brighton Standard Blade of May 13, 2015, there were only 79 ballots cast in the special, very quiet election held on May 5 to allow the present fire district board to stay in office beyond the term limits imposed on locally elected officials. According to Tom Janich’s article in the previous issue of the paper, that special election cost the taxpayers $5,000. That comes out to $63 per ballot. Seems to me a large waste of taxpayers’ money.
Thanks Tom Janich for at least trying to alert taxpayers.
