Missing infant safe; suspect still on the run

DENVER – A 3-month-old infant turned up safe in a northwest Denver alley near 6th Street and Federal Blvd. on March 7. The search continues for the person who took the child from a Brighton strip mall parking lot in front of Safeway, 1605 E Bridge Street, plus the person's pick-up truck.


The incident started around 3:30 p.m. in the shopping center near East Bridge Street and 18th Avenue. The suspect was in a red Ford F-150 truck with a Colorado license plate of 870 PQY. A red camper shell is still attached to the truck.


Media reports said a nearby resident who was taking his trash to a Dumpster found the child who was still in his car seat. Brighton Police Chief Paul Southard said that the child was found around 4:30 p.m.
