Gerald Dean Nichols, 80, of Severance, died May 6, 2012 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
Mr. Nichols was born Jan. 24, 1932, to Orville and Blanche (Vernard) Nichols in Weldona, Colo. He served in the Navy.
He worked for Hall Irwin as an aggregate salesman. Gerald was known for his ability to work on and fix most anything.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his sons, Russel (Colleen) Nichols of Fort Collins and Scott Nichols of Severance; daughters Sheryl (Dale) Johnston of Fort Collins and Katherine (Scott Schmit) Nichols of Greeley; sisters Orvella (Harley) Scott of Brighton, Delores Otzenberger of Minnesota and Betty Smith of Sun City, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by “The Girls” -- Jayla and Lucy-his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial celebration with military honors was held Tuesday, May 15, at Marks Funeral Chapel, 9293 Eastman Park Dr., Windsor.
