BRIGHTON — Office Depot teamed up with School District 27J to donate 600 packs to 27J students.
As part of the 2013 Office Depot Foundation National Backpack Program, Office Depot stores from the northern metro area, including the Office Depot store at Prairie Center in Brighton, donated the backpacks, the latest contribution in a three-year partnership.
Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation are celebrating the donation of their 3 millionth backpack and sackpack this year as part of the award-winning program that began in 2001. They estimate they will donate about 300,000 backpacks to non-profit organizations and schools throughout the United States and a number of other countries in 2013.
The organization has donated a total of 1,400 backpacks and backpacks to School District 27J students over the past three years. 27J’s team of attendance liaisons will divide the backpacks and have them available at schools for students in need.
