BRIGHTON — Brighton police said they did not find an explosive device in the area around South 22nd Avenue and Jessup Street Friday morning, Jan. 31.
The area was evacuated as a precaution, but homeowners started returning home shortly before 11:45 a.m.
Police said they received reports of a suspicious device earlier in the morning. Brighton police and Brighton Fire Rescue responders cleared the area after police said a homeowner triggered his medical-alert alarm and told them he had received an email that someone put a bomb in his car.
Emergency responders investigating the scene maintained a perimeter around the home until the bomb squad arrived. An ambulance took the unidentified homowner to a local hospital for an evaluation.
