BRIGHTON -- Sable Boulevard will be closed for construction from South Bromley to 140th Avenue starting Monday. The city of Brighton will be installing culverts for drainage. The project is expected to last approximately a week, Utilities Director Jim Landeck said.
The detour will force motorists to use East 136th Avenue and Bromley Lane using Chambers Road.
"Once we get further east with the project, we need to construct a culvert under Chambers as well so the detour will be reversed and traffic will be reversed. and traffic will be detoured over to Sable," Landeck said. "This project
is moving forward, and this is one of those inconveniences as a result. These culverts are rather large, and the only cost-effective way to install them is closing down the road."
