Santiago’s robbed at gunpoint

Santiago’s Mexican Restaurant, 1150 E. Bridge St., was robbed at gunpoint on 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9.

    Two men dressed in dark clothing entered through the back door of Santiago’s shortly after it closed. They held a female employee at gunpoint as she was trying to leave and brought her back into the building before robbing the store, according to John Bradley, spokesman with Brighton police.

The first suspect is described as being approximately 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and around 180 pounds. The second suspect is around 5feet 3 inches tall and about 110 pounds. He was wearing a Guy Fawkes’ mask, similar to those associated with the internet group, Anonymous, and seen in the movie "V for Vendetta."

    There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The owner of the Santiago’s restaurant is offering a $5,000 reward “for arrest and conviction..
