BRIGHTON – In November, Open Arms Pregnancy Center received a phone call from Heather Blaire, a teacher at Brighton Adventist Academy. Blaire said that the students and faculty were interested in making the pregnancy center their Christmas project. Blaire asked if the center could use new and used items for their clients.
The response was overwhelmingly, “Yes.”
The students began bringing gifts to school for babies and, as Christmas drew near, the collection grew to include a large array of toys, baby bottles, clothes (sizes from newborn to 24 months), pacifiers, crib sheet, blankets, baby spoons and forks, bowls and baby toiletries. Across the lobby from the school office, stood a Christmas tree decorated with tiny baby items, like onesies, caps, booties and other small items. One little child wrote a note for a baby and, with the note, slipped 27 cents into an envelope.
On behalf of the little ones, Open Arms thanks the students and faculty for their generosity. They did so much to make babies comfortable.
Open Arms Pregnancy Center is at 137 Longs Peak St., Brighton, and 236 Park Ave., Fort Lupton.
