BRIGHTON — Brighton City Manager Manuel Esquibel officially announced March 5 the resignation of Brighton Utilities Director Jim Landeck, effective March 3.

Landeck joined the city of Brighton in June 2006 as assistant public works director and later was promoted to utilities director in October 2008. Prior to joining the city of Brighton, Landeck served as town administrator in Hudson and as public works director and city manager in Northglenn.

“Jim’s skills and knowledge (have) been a huge asset to the city’s utilities department and his hard work over the years is to be commender,” Esquibel said in a news release announcing Landeck’s retirement. “We wish him the best in his future endeavours.”

Previously, Brighton Police Chief Clint Blackhurst was named acting utilities director for the city and will continue in that capacity as the city conducts a national search for the position.

Landeck was unavailable for comment.
