Jessica A. and James P. Arasmith, of Brighton, announce the birth of a son, Ely Manuel Arasmith. Ely was born Feb. 23, 2013, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, weighing 7 pounds, 9.2 ounces, and measuring 20 1/2 inches long.
    Grandparents are David and Rebecca Haynes, of Brighton; Wendy Arasmith, of Fort Lupton; and Karl Arasmith, of Boulder City, Nev. Great-grandfather is Ralph May, of Hudson.
    Ely joins his brother, Wyatt Arasmith, 5, at home.

Tearsa Poulson, of Fort Lupton, and Devin Pierog, of Lochbuie, announce the birth of a son, Hunter Mason Pierog. Hunter was born Feb. 23, 2013, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, weighing 4 pounds, 7 ounces, and measuring 18 inches.
    Grandparents are Jamie Kaster, of Fort Lupton; Andrew Poulson, of Aurora; and Don and Cindy Pierog, of Lochbuie.

Elizabeth Ann Hernandez, of Fort Lupton, and Paul Lopez Hernandez, Jr., of Commerce City, announce the birth of a son, Samuel Paul Hernandez. Samuel was born Feb. 26, 2013, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches.
    Grandparents are Samuel and Grace Hernandez, of Fort Lupton, and Paul and Yvonne Hernandez, of Commerce City. Great-grandmother is Lupe Hernandez, of Commerce City.
    Samuel joins his sister, Yvonne ReaAnn Hernandez, 3, at home.

BRIGHTON — Residents are advised to be cautious with their pets and outdoor animals after Tri-County Health officials confirmed a skunk found in Brighton was infected with rabies.

In a Feb. 27 release, Tri-County Health spokesman Gary Sky reported that a skunk found in Brighton just south of the Weld County line had tested positive for rabies.
