  • New Pavilions owner sees 'tremendous opportunity'

        BRIGHTON – The new owner of the struggling Brighton Pavilions says he has high hopes for revitalizing the largely vacant in-line retail portion of the downtown shopping center.
        Florida-based Cantor Partners was officially announced last week as the buyer of the center’s four in-line retail buildings.

        BRIGHTON  —  Patricia Murray’s CPA business merged with Auer Woodley’s CPA firm and will be known as Auer Woodley’s CPAs.
        The new ownership said it would be able to provide its clients with a more comprehensive solution to help them grow as individuals and as businesses.
        “The new firm will add new and much needed capabilities and knowledge to serve the community, especially during these difficult economic times,” according to a press release.

  • AMC Brighton to offer hit movies with subtitles

        In an effort to reach a wider audience, AMC Brighton 12 in the Brighton Pavilions will begin showing a weekly hit movie with Spanish subtitles.
        This week’s showing will be the newly-released “Tower Heist,” starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. The theater plans to have a movie with Spanish subtitles each week.

  • Firehouse Subs awards detectors to Brighton Fire Rescue District

    THORNTON – Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation presented the Brighton Fire Rescue District with 128 carbon monoxide detectors to distribute throughout the city.

  • The Glassman moves to Fort Lupton

        After four years in the same spot on Brighton’s Bridge Street, The Glassman is moving to a larger shop on Fort Lupton’s main drag. Basing the business out of 127 S. Denver Ave., The Glassman, owned by husband and wife team Jim and Sue Neal hope to be moved into the new shop by the end of October.
        “We were told by our landlord that he wants to put a body shop in our little area,” Sue Neal said. “So we found a nicer, bigger shop in Fort Lupton to better serve our customers.”

  • Brighton Depot closes doors

        The venerable Brighton Depot restaurant, a landmark of the Brighton community for many years, closed its doors again this week.

        The restaurant's marquee sign Friday read, "Closed: Thank you loyal patrons."
