Brighton firefighters were able to control a garage fire in the 11100 block of East 166th Avenue April 29.
Brighton Fire Rescue District spokeswoman Natalie Ridderbos said the fire originally was reported as a garage fire.
"The fire was found in the garage and kitchen area," she tweeted. "The fire is under control."
Crews were able to rescue one dog; however, two others perished. Ridderbos said the cause of the fire and its origin are not known.
