BRIGHTON -- Police arrested one person in connection with an Oct. 27 car crash/shooting and are looking for additional witnesses.
Police announced the arrest of a Brighton resident, 33-year-old Santana D. Nanez, on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. It's up to the Adams County District Attorney's Office to decide on the formal charges.
HUDSON -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-car crash that killed one person and injured five others Friday, Oct. 31.
It happened shortly before 10 a.m. Oct. 31 at Weld County roads 4 and 45. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A medical helicopter took one patient to Denver Health Medical Center, and ground ambulances took four patients to University Hospital in Aurora.
Firefighters and ambulances from the Brighton and Hudson fire departments were on scene.
HUDSON -- A Commerce City woman died, and four other people were injured Friday morning after a two-car crash at Weld County roads 4 and 45.
The Colorado State Patrol identified the woman as 68-year-old Sandy Miller McGee. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Bob, 71, was among those injured. Both were involved with the Worship Center in Brighton. Bob McGee was at University Hospital for treatment of what the Colorado State Patrol called "moderate injuries."
BRIGHTON -- Five people were injured Monday after a shooting and a car crash near U.S. Highway 85 and 136th Avenue.
No names were released. Brighton Police Department spokesman John Bradley said one of the injured people was taken to an aea hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Two cars flipped over as a result of the crash. It's not clear how the shooting ties in with the car crash.
"We are still investigating that aspect," Bradley said.
