    Anthony Day Contributing writer     BRIGHTON — It may be one of the city’s best-kept secrets – adult softball leagues.     The summer season starts next week at the Brighton Sports Complex. The recently completed spring campaign was contested two nights a week. There will be a fall season, too.
  • Brighton’s third annual Little Britches Rodeo in June
    Anthony Day Contributing writer     HENDERSON — Brighton’s third annual Little Britches Rodeo is set to take place again this year. It’s June 2 and 3 at the Adams County Fairgrounds.     This event is free to the public, but if you plan on participating, the contestants have to pay a fee for each event they enter. Almost 80 people were in last year’s rodeo vying for cash and prizes.

  • Youth baseball champs
        The Brighton Bulldog 14U competitive baseball team won the Division 2 Triple Crown baseball tournament the first weekend in April.     Brighton beat Hitstreak Elite 10-5 in the quarterfinals and beat Eaton 8-2 in the semifinals. The championship game was a 6-0 win against Colorado Extreme from Fort Collins.

    Brighton’s Aaron Gaskins, 28, finished Monday’s Boston Marathon in a time of 3:56.13. It translated to a pace of nine minutes per mile.
