Free water-wise landscape seminar April 16

-A A +A

Some people can find it tough to garden in Colorado’s arid environment, but one can make things easier by selecting the right plants for your landscape. Together, the City of Brighton Utilities Department and Resource Central are hosting their fifth annual Water-Wise Landscape Seminar. The free “Great Plants for Colorado Gardens”  seminar will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, at the Brighton Recreation Center, 555 N 11th Ave.

At the seminar, participants will learn about native and non-native trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, perennials, and annuals. Alison O’Connor, CSU Extension agent for Larimer County, will share some of her favorite water-wise plants that are successful in most Colorado landscapes. She will also discuss general maintenance guidelines and tips and offer suggestions to make gardening in Colorado a bit easier to tackle.

You can sign up today and learn how to create your very own thriving Colorado garden. The seminar is free and open to everyone. To register, visit resourcecentral.org/seminars. Email gardeninfo@resourcecentral.org or call 303-999-3820  ext. 222 for more information.
