Gwendolyn H. Nodtvedt

-A A +A

Gwendolyn (Gwen) H. Nodtvedt, formerly of Boulder and recently residing in Brighton, achieved her long-awaited dream of being with her heavenly father on Oct. 7, 2013, after a full life of 88 years.
She was born July 20, 1925, in Superior. She attended schools in Lafayette, graduating from Lafayette High School. She continued her education at the University of Colorado, earning a bachelor degree in music education. She married Donald P. Nodtvedt on June 7, 1950, in Boulder. Together they started their music teaching careers in Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and then back home in Boulder where they started a family business.
She was always at her church, singing and volunteering whenever possible. Her delights in life were her children, her grandchildren, her birds and anytime she could go fishing.
Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2010, having just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her son, Donald P Nodtvedt Jr. (Barbara), of Danville, Va., and her daughter, Sharon A. Hettema, of Brighton, in addition, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing and service were held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Boulder. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Memorial suggestions: Navigators (PO Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO) or The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Danville Area (123 Foster St. Danville, VA 24541).
