LETTER: Thanks to those who helped with the Turtle Trek 5k

-A A +A

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, participants and volunteers of the Turtle Trek 5k, to honor the late Richard Lambert. You have made it possible for the Richard Lambert Memorial Foundation to donate $5,000 to Hope House of Colorado. We are looking forward to keeping our event in Brighton and helping to draw people in to support our local businesses.
As Brighton residents, Susan and Jaime Chavez, the parents of Richard Lambert, established the Richard Lambert Memorial Foundation in September 2013. A nonprofit corporation established to raise funds for unwed teenage mothers. The further purpose of the foundation that his parents envision, is to bring to the community a place for Christian or traditional grief counseling, at low or no cost, with a focus on parents that have lost a child, as well as to the siblings of the young family member.
We would also like to organize a grief group. We are looking into locations within the community and meeting with therapists. As parents that have experienced the traumatic loss of a child, we want others to have the help and support to heal. Parents that have walked in our shoes know that nobody truly knows what your going through. We want you to be able to connect with other parents experiencing the same emotions and loss.
Anyone wishing to volunteer or head up a prayer group to pray for the foundation please email Richardlambertmemorialfoundation@outlook.com To help us reach our goal of $10,000 you may mail a check payable to: Richard Lambert Memorial Fund to: 412 Sunshine Way, Brighton, CO 80601.
