A gym and a pair of bargain stores are destined for the site of the old K-Mart store on the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 85 and Bromley Lane, according to Mark Fouts, a real estate agent.

Planet Fitness, Dollar Tree and an ARC thrift store are planned for the space, said Fouts who works at Fuller Real Estate in Denver.

Construction crews currently are renovating the site, including the parking lot. Kmart closed its store in the shopping center in April 2016.

Fuller Real Estate works with Brighton Investors LLC, the owners of the shopping center.

Fouts said that construction and renovation of the space is expected to be completed in the coming months. The new businesses are expected to open to the public by mid-October, Fouts said.

Planet Fitness is expected to occupy 25,000 square feet, Dollar Tree will occupy 10,000 square feet and ARC will occupy 46,000 square feet.

The Bromley Plaza Shopping Center was built in 1980.

About 20,000 cars go past the spot every day, economic development officials have said.
