PVHS sets up first baseball winter camp

BRIGHTON — Prairie View’s first baseball winter camp series is in place.
    Coach Tim Cardenas’ plans include a Christmas break hitting camp in 90-minute blocks from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 27 and 28. The camp will be at the 27J indoor hitting facility, 895 Voiles St., No. A, Brighton. Cost is $30, which includes a camp T-shirt and hitting sessions with the PVHS coaches.
    Also, Cardenas put together a speed-agility-strength/hitting camp Mondays and Wednesdays from Jan. 14 to Feb. 20. Sessions run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at PVHS, 12909 E. 120th Ave., and at the hitting facility on Voiles Street. This camp is designed for sixth-through eighth-graders. The cost is $60 and includes a camp T-shirt and 12 sessions with the team baseball coaches.
    Cardenas is offering a pitching camp Saturdays from Jan. 19 to Feb. 16. That’s geared toward to players between 8 and 14 years of age. It will be at the Alley Training Facility, 348 E. Bridge St. Two sessions per day are available. They run for an hour and 15 minutes starting at 8 a.m.
