Richard Lambert Foundation to hold Turtle Trek at Barr Lake State Park

BRIGHTON — Are you training for a half marathon, full marathon, like to run, getting out and enjoying a walk in nature or just want to support a great local cause?

The organizers of the annual Turtle Trek think they have just the event for you. Slated for 8:30 and 9 a.m. starts Saturday, Sept. 20, at Barr Lake State Park, the event is designed for runners and walkers of all ages and athletic abilities.

This is the third year for the Turtle Trek, which is organized by the Richard Lambert Foundation Family Grief & Healing Center and supported by a number of Brighton-area businesses to raise funds to assist local community members in receiving, grief support through counseling and grief workshops.

After losing their son, Richard, in 2012, Susan and Jaime Chavez say they realize the importance of counseling, support and connecting with others through their loss .
