  • Riley Mantey graduates Army basic training

    Army Pvt. Riley D. Mantey has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

  • Brett Egan graduates Air Force basic training

    U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Brett L. Egan graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

    Egan is the son of Curtis W. and Jodi C. Egan, of Brighton. He is a 2014 graduate of Erie High School.

  • 85th birthday celebration planned for Charlene Alexis

    Charlene Alexis, of Brighton, will celebrate her 85th birthday on Tuesday, April 14.

    Air Force Airman Roman A. Sandoval graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

    Air Force Airman Drew R. Oenes recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

  • Ingmire, Leopold to wed in August

    Gary and Laura Ingmire, of Brighton, announce that their daughter, Jamie Ingmire, of Lakewood, is engaged to be wed to Brad Leopold, of Highlands Ranch, the son of John and Jan Leopold, of Fond du Lac, Wis.

    Both Jamie and Brad are employed by Baker Hughes, Inc., in Denver. They plan an Aug. 22 wedding at Stonebrook Manor in Thornton.

  • Bergkamp, Cook to wed

    Mr. Stanley Bergkamp and Mrs. Romaine Sailas-Bergkamp  are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, U.S. Air Force Captain Jonathan Aaron Bergkamp — grandson of Arthur and Marie Sailas of Brighton — to U.S. Air Force Captain Sarah Cook, daughter of Mr. David and Mrs. Deborah Cook, of Davidsonville, Md.

  • Paxton Duran named to Dean's Honor Roll at Fort Hays State

    HAYS, KAN. — A Brighton student was among the 1,167 students named to the Dean’s Honor Roll for the fall 2014 semester at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan.

    Paxton Duran, a junior majoring in health and human performance, was among the Colorado students to earn the honor. 

    To be eligible, students must have enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60 for the semester. 

  • Jazmin Morales named to Dean's List at New Haven

    WEST HAVEN, CONN. — Jazmin Morales, of Brighton, was named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Haven for the Fall 2014 semester.

    Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean’s List.
