• Rodger Lee Brinton

    Rodger Lee Brinton, 58, of Thornton, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at his home.

    He is survived by his mother Rosemary, his sisters, Susan and Michelle; son Jeffrey; daughter Regina; son-in law Ivan; grandchildren, Breck, Ellania and Gavin; soul mate and best friend Jennifer, and daughter Deena.  

  • Robert Matthew Trostel

    Robert Matthew Trostel, 58, passed away June 19, 2014, in a boating accident at Theodore Roosevelt Reservoir in Gila County, Ariz.

    He was born Feb. 22, 1956, in Denver, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the youngest of five sons born to Byrl and Ruth Trostel. Robert grew up on the family farm near Erie, where he attended Mountain View School grades 1-4 and then Fort Lupton Schools, graduating high school in 1974. In 1983 Robert and Deborah Herman were married in Fort Lupton; they later divorced.

  • Fred Louis Swanson

    Fred Louis Swanson, 82, passed away Aug. 11, 2014.

    Viewing was Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Funeral service was held on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Chapel Hill Church of the Nazarene, 10 Chapel Hill Dr., Brighton, Colorado. Interment followed at Brush Memorial Cemetery.

  • Gerald L. Reynolds

    Gerald L. “Jerry” Reynolds, 73, was born to Orlo and Evelyn (Punches) Reynolds, and died Aug 9, 2014, in Aurora at University of Colorado Hospital. 

    Jerry is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Weaver); two sons, Todd (Beth), of Brighton, and Dan (Amy), of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, a brother, and six grandchildren.

    An 11 a.m. memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at the Redlands United Methodist Church, 527 Village Way, Grand Junction. A luncheon will follow the service.

  • Ronald L. Trent

    Ronald L. Trent, 66, of Brighton, passed away Aug. 12, 2014. He was born to Virgil and Reathel (Inscho) Trent. 

    Ron is survived by his mother, Raethel Maisch, of Wichita, Kan.; his wife, Grace Trent, of Brighton; son, Duane Trent, of Idledale; daughters, Brigette Fox, of Haysville, Kan., Christine (David) Kinyanjui, Estefanita (Temo) De La Torre, of Thornton, and Suzana (Allan) Talusan, of Denver; a sister, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  • Colton Curtis Blocker

    Colton Curtis Blocker, 15, of Brighton, passed away Aug. 10, 2014. He was born on June 22, 1999, in Wheat Ridge, son of Curtis and Cara Blocker.

    Colton was starting his sophomore year at Brighton High School. He was a very happy young man who loved going to school, riding on the school bus, playing in the dirt with his tractors and riding in big trucks. Most of all Colton loved being around his family, especially his dad. Colton was one of a kind person who always put a smile on your face.

  • Jayden Iran Hernandez Pecina

    Blanca Pecina and Cristian Hernandez, of Brighton, announce the birth of a son, Jayden Iran Hernandez Pecina. Jayden was born Aug. 1, 2014, at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 21 inches.

    Grandparents are Christina Pecina, Nicholas Hernandez, and Virginia Hernandez, of Brighton.

  • Geraldine F. Elliot

    Geraldine Elliot, 91, of Littleton, passed away on Aug. 5, 2014. Geraldine was born to Edward and Bessie Anson.

    She is survived by her sons, Paul (Lisa) Elliot and Roger (Linda) Elliot; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three brothers and a sister.

    The funeral service was held at Bear Valley Church, 10001 W. Jewell Ave. in Lakewood, on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Graveside service was held at Evergreen Memorial Park in Evergreen on Monday, Aug. 11.

  • Stacy Howard Smallwood

    Stacy Howard Smallwood, 50, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Thornton, died Aug. 1, 2014, at home.

    He is survived by his fiancé, Courtney Schill; a son, Brandon Smallwood; and a grandchild.

  • Albert Joseph Heinz

    Albert Joseph Heinz, 71 of Keenesburg, passed away on Aug. 6, 2014. He was born to Joseph and Jennie (Schwynoch) Heinz.

    He is survived by his loving family; wife, Karen; children Joe (Katie) Heinz, Melanie Heinz and Phyllis (Chris) Hammack, as well as nine grandchildren.

    Memorial services was Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton.
